ABOUT US

Ladycross Plantation is set in 30 acres of tranquil mature woodland with a variety of pitches in both open areas and in amongst the woodland depending on your preferred pitch setting

The park has no play area for children but mature woodland that surrounds the park offers the chance for children to explore a natural environment along the mile of wood chipped paths which weave through the woodland forest where an abundance of wildlife can be seen

The onsite shop sells local produce and basic provisions, Calor gas, newspapers, leaflets of local attractions and a book exchange library

The two amenity blocks have under floor heating, hygienic Infrared non touch showers, hair driers, shaving points, private cubicles and disable facilities. Each block has vegetable preparation and washing areas with Elsan point.

A laundrette room with washing machine, tumble drier, sink and baby changing facilities

There are a choice of fully serviced pitches, hard standings and grass pitches and for those wishing to stay a little longer seasonal pitches are available.

The park is Family owned and run and there is always someone on site to help.

At the top of the park set in amongst the trees there are luxury oak clad lodges for hire or to purchase and have open plan living, two to three bedrooms, high vaulted ceilings, private decking and hot tub availability

New for 2016 Motor home hire with the first night free at Ladycross so you can collect the motor home any time during the day of your booking stay the night and be shown how the motor home works and set off fresh and ready in the morning. We also have barrier entry to the Park so your vehicle will be safe whilst you enjoy your holiday

Around the Park

Egton is a small village approximately 1 mile from Ladycross with the Wheatsheaf pub where you can experience fantastic food but remember to prebook and another mile further down the valley at Egton Bridge are the Postgate Inn and Horseshoe hotel both serving great food and ales.

The railway station at Egton bridge goes to Whitby passing through grosmont and is great way to travel into the historic port where Dracula once stayed ..so they say !

Whitby also offers attractions on the West Cliff such as the paddling pool and crazy golf or why not just sit and watch the world go by out at sea.

A little further North along the coast are the sandy beaches of Sandsend and if you are feeling energetic, there are beautiful walks along the cliffs to Runswick Bay or through the privately owned Mulgrave Woods (check when they are open).

South of Whitby, Robin Hood Bay is an attractive village to visit and a little further on, the Staintondale Shire Horse Farm is a delightful place to visit for the whole family.

Further inland there is 'Heartbeat' Country with beautiful villages and country walks as well as the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway which runs from Grosmont to Pickering. It is possible to dine on the train but remember to book first. Trout fishing is available at Pickering and closer to home, fishing can be arranged at Scaling Dam.

For the more energetic, there is boating on the River Esk at Ruswarp, sailing at Scaling Dam, horse riding and golf are within easy reach of the site and of course for the really energetic, cycling is a good way to explore the area.

Whitby has strong connections with Captain James Cook, one of our most famous explorers, with a Cook trail to follow from his birthplace at Marton via Great Ayton, where he went to school, and ending at Whitby where he was apprenticed to a local shipowner in 1746.

A miniature replica of Captain Cooks Ship HMS Bark Endeavour is based in Whitby and offers short pleasure trips out to sea.

The Captain Cook memorial Museum in Grape Lane is well worth a visit, as is the Museum in Pannett Park. While in Whitby you can visit the Abbey which is spectacularly poised on the cliff top alongside St. Mary's Church. Perhaps then walk down the 199 steps to see the traditional oak smoking sheds where kippers are produced and then along quaint Church Street, stopping off to see Jet jewellery being made.

There are many opportunities to sample Whitby's excellent fish and chips and to watch the fishing boats in the harbour, or perhaps take a trip on a fishing boat or on the old lifeboat - sea legs a must !!
